I just received my new al619 and it is defective,won`t read SRS/ABS codes.
I just read in these forums that the units are shipped with outdated software and that you need to purchase a card reader in order to get the updated software over the internet.
That information should be included in the product advertisments,it seems like a deceptive trade practice to sell diagnostic equipment with outdated software and the only way to get the updated software is to purchase a third party card reader.

If you bought an American unit, you are in good hands as far as support is concerned.If your unit is like mine and not an American market unit, which we did not know until problems happened, you are in bad shape and should return it immediately, IMO and based on my experience.
